Our Services
Process Automation
The way one of our worker-members got pulled into the software profession was through facing a mundane task in a non-programming role and figuring out how to automate it through code. We imagine that every workplace has similar opportunities waiting to be discovered. Tell us what pains you and we'll find a solution to save you time and make your work less error-prone.
Database Design & Administration
We are experienced in designing and administering relational databases, for web apps or data storage and retrieval. We're also known to use a database or two and can help to optimize SQL queries or develop ETL/ELT pipelines. Though we prefer Postgres, we can also work with your database of choice (excluding Oracle - see below).
Web Development, Hosting, & Administration
We can maintain your existing website or work with you to build a new one that doesn't lock you into an expensive, rigid, and proprietary system. We follow web standards to create usable websites and tools that meet accessibility guidelines and provide users with a coherent experience. Additionally, we can manage hosting, domain registration, DNS records, and TLS certificates.
Linux System Administration
Many small organizations do not have the ability to hire full-time system administrators, and therefore either let that role go unfilled or delegate it to someone "technical" who already has a lot of other work on their plate. However, the infrastructure that powers your web presence or holds your business data is crucial and requires regular maintenance, monitoring, backups, and upgrades. We'd be happy to bring your systems under our protection.
Campaign & Software Support
Facing a crunch and in need of some extra hands getting your message out? Our members are familiar with MailChimp, Salsa, EveryAction, and Engaging Networks (and we'd be happy to learn other platforms). Or just need some help figuring out how to make the thing do the thing it's supposed to? We can fit into your team and help where needed.
Payroll & Bookkeeping Assistance
We are at your service with over a decade of experience with bookkeeping. We're happy to run payroll, pay contractors, manually enter income and expenses, and even assist with budgeting. Having worked with every size of organization, there should be no job too big or small.
Non-Services
To help you determine if we're the right fit for you, here are some things that we don't offer:
-
Anything related to generative "AI." We won't touch it, even with someone else's computer.1
- Oracle-related database work.2
- Marketing and advertising. We'd be happy to work with another firm or bring in an independent consultant if you are in need of this, but it's not (currently!) within our skillset.
